Are there two identical towns in Czechia? The answer may surprise many people: yes. Well, almost yes. Josefov near Hradec Králové and Terezín in the Litoměřice region.

Both towns were built according to a similar plan as Baroque fortresses under Emperor Joseph II. They have almost identical Spartan military churches on almost identical squares. And both towns are surrounded by rivers. In fact, both are located at a confluence. In the case of Terezín, it is the confluence of the Ohře and Elbe rivers, while in Josefov, the Metuje River flows into the Elbe.
