Cosplay(Japanese コスプレ, transliterated as kosupure) is an abbreviation of the English words "costume play", which translates to costume game. Cosplay is therefore not only a costume, but also an acting performance. Cosplay refers to a costume in which a person tries to look like a character, whether from fantasy or science fiction in general. Costumes and cosplay of characters from anime, manga or video games are very common. Such a person, who has elaborated the character's character in addition to the costume, can be called a cosplayer.
