Krkonoše Mountains

(known locally as Kerkonoše, in Polish as Karkonosze, and in German as Riesengebirge) are the highest mountains in the Czech Republic, with Sněžka (1,603 m above sea level) as the highest peak. They are located in the northwestern part of the Czech Republic and include 15 peaks higher than one thousand meters above sea level.

  • Luční hora 1,555 m above sea level, 
  • Studniční hora (Well Mountain) 1,554 m above sea level, 
  • Vysoké Kolo 1,509 m above sea level, 
  • Silver Ridge 1,490 m above sea level, 
  • Violík 1,472 m above sea level

The Krkonoše Mountainsare located in northeastern Czechia on the border between the Czech Republic and Poland. The Czech part of the Krkonoše Mountains is more extensive and rugged than the Polish part. Due to its extraordinary natural wealth, the Krkonoše Mountains have been declared a national park. Thanks to its beauty and snow conditions, the Krkonoše Mountains have become one of the most sought-after recreational areas in the Czech Republic. The Krkonoše Mountains offer ideal conditions for active relaxation,mountain hiking, orcycling trips. In winter, the Krkonoše Mountains provide ideal conditions for skiers. There are many centers in the Krkonoše Mountains with well-maintained ski lifts and slopes, as well as dozens of kilometers of cross-country trails.
